Women experience menstrual cycle on a monthly basis which lasts from 3 to 7 days. Some women have more regular periods by having 28 days cycle to 30, while the others suffer from more irregular periods. There are so many things that affect menstrual cycle like stress, food, sleep, physical activity, sexual intercourse etc. One of the biggest things that affect periods is the “morning after pills” as well. When having a sexual intercourse sometimes you want to be safe and take that oral pill, which will transform your periods in a mess for a month or 2. After that period, things will go back to normal.

During their menstrual, women experience severe cramps like stomach pain, headaches, and backpain. It is so important to track your periods and see if everything is normal with your body because they are a sign of fertility.

Pink

The pink color is not a common period color. If it occurs for first hours of the period, then it transforms in a dark red everything is normal. If you experience bright blood flow during a month, you don’t need to worry. That’s completely normal. It can appear as a result of a busy day when the blood runs rapidly from the body without having time to darken.

But, you shouldn’t ignore this type of color if the bleeding lasts longer than a week, and the blood becomes pinkish and doesn’t fade.

Dark red

Dark red says that you’re experiencing a completely normal period especially if it’s in your middle of your cycle. If the color does not fade and bleed more than usual, it may be a sign of spontaneous miscarriage or, at worst, for the presence of a tumor.

Orange – red

This type of color is really unusual and it can relate to any infection. This color is seen when blood is mixed with fluids from the cervix. It can also have a smell. You should immediately pay a visit to your gynecologist when experiencing this kind of symptoms.

Brown – black

If you experience periods with brown -black color this can be normal. This happens in the last days of period and you don’t have to worry about it. But if this gets repeated for several days then you should pay a visit to your gynecologist.

Heavy bleeding

Heavy bleeding is a symptom which many women experience mostly during their second day of their period. It is completely normal.

But if this phenomenon lasts longer, it may be a sign of an early pregnancy or hormonal disorder. Visit your gynecologist if this happens.
