Seeing your child enjoy his/her time with a dog is an amazing thing. This way your child will be more independent which will affect his/her self-esteem. A connection with a dog can bring many other benefits to your child like less stress, more happiness, better health, greater personality etc.

But this doesn’t mean that you should wait for the same reactions from every dog. Considering that there are dogs that are so dangerous, it’s better to keep your child away from them.

Below you will read a story of a 7-year-old boy called Taylen Osmond, who got attacked by a German shepherd dog. He just went to visit his grandparents in La Poile.

He Was Playing With Other Kids When Suddenly The Dog Has Approached
Colbourne said her son was playing in the yard of a family friend with other kids while the dog was leashed. The child of the family who owns the dog was hugging it and when Taylen went to pet the dog it attacked.

She said his face was torn up pretty bad with a lot of swelling and a lot of blood.

“We have not concluded the file, but in this case what we have so far seems to indicate that the animal was tethered on the homeowner’s property,” said an official in charge of animal protective services in the area.

Now The Little Boy Suffers From PTSD

Colbourne said it was traumatic for him and even now he doesn’t want to go out much, as he’s afraid of his facial marks scaring people.

“He told me he’s not sure if he’ll trust dogs again but he’s quite the little boy and in good spirits,” Angie Colbourne said of her son. She says that now she wants to tell people to educate children about pet safety, and to be cautious with your own pets around children, no matter how friendly the animal may seem.

“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.”
